Hold onto your faith!

I woke up this morning and the news was on the television. The first thing that I heard was the stock market was down. I came and sat down in my office and looked online. I just began to pray for God to be with me. I opened up my front door and it was still dark outside. When the wind blew and I felt the presence of the Lord, He began to comfort me and speak to my heart.

When I came back inside the house, I read an e-mail from a friend. The e-mail was titled, "Talk to Me God, Let God be God. I thought wow. That was direct. As I communed with God, I began to recall obstacles that had came in my life. As believers, we face obstacles all of the time. Even if you are not a believer, you are not exempt from facing an obstacle. When you are a believer in Christ, you have a powerful choice in how you deal with an obstacle. I know that God has been with me through all of my prior obstacles. In fact, I survived major obstacles in my life and I remain His witness. I've survived a car accident with a freightliner. I've survived the early and unexpected death of my father. I've survived adversity on every level. Yet, God has kept me and sustained me.

As of late, I've observed an excess of doubt being spewed out in the world. While we believe that it is focused on finances and politics, I contend that a spirit of doubt will attach to anything in your life. Doubt brings about feelings and beliefs of mistrust and uncertainty. Doubt also creates questions in your mind that will replay even as you sleep. It is okay to ask questions, but where do you go for the answers? Are you satisfied with the answers in God's word or does His Word now feel intangible because of the shaking that is taking place in the world?

Relying on the stock market, the news and people will create void and disappointment in your life. When you continue to doubt as a believer, you are agreeing to the uncertainty that is before you. That is why we have to remember that we as people of God were designed to withstand. We can't give because of temporary things or situations (2 Cor 4:18). We were promised that faith the size of a mustard seed would move mountains. The Bible says that without faith, it is impossible to please God. God's word warns us that these times and obstacles would come.

Yes, those obstacles you face are real. That is an undeniable fact. The Message Bible says that your faith is a response to God's power (1 Cor 2:5). So, when the questions of doubt come, how will you respond?

This was a very good article, and thank you very much for sharing this. I too, woke up or rather stayed up with the same thoughts on my mind. As a matter of fact, I am comforted in knowing that the scriptures you gave in your article are the same ones that I have given to someone else this week, and rehearsed it for myself. Continue to be inspired by the Lord, and write for His glory.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words. I have to tell you that the minute I sent this out, I became under attack by the enemy. I spent all day rebuking him and pressing through without falling into temptation. By the afternoon, major breakthroughs occurred in my life. I am so humbled by the Lord. I can't stress the importance of submitting to the will of the Father. This is why we must live to be of encouragement to each other, instead of tearing each other down. With God, all things are possible.
